Surfaces and clouds
Surfaces and clouds remain in an area and can affect creatures moving through it.
Fire, acid, or ice on the ground can differ from a cloud above it. Check whether an effect applies on entry, on a turn boundary, or in another way.
Water, fire, and ice can change when exposed to other elements. Consider the terrain left behind, including paths your allies need to cross.
