Terms of Service
These terms set the conditions and procedures needed to use Builder’s Gate (the “Service”), and the rights and obligations of users and the operator.
The Service is a free fan tool made by an individual. It has no relationship with Larian Studios or Wizards of the Coast.
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these terms is to set the conditions and procedures for using the Service and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the operator.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service — Builder’s Gate and all screens and features belonging to it
- User — a person who uses the Service under these terms, whether logged in or not
- Member — a user logged in with a Google or Discord account
- Builds — character build materials created by a user in the Service
- Post — a build posted by a member to the community, with its title and description
Article 3 (Effect and changes to the terms)
These terms take effect when posted on this page. The operator may change them when necessary, and the changed terms are announced on this page 7 days before they take effect. When a change is unfavorable to users, it is announced 30 days before it takes effect.
If you continue using the Service after the announcement, you are considered to have agreed to the changed terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service or withdraw as a member.
Article 4 (Membership registration)
The Service does not have a separate registration process. When you log in with Google or Discord, an account is created at that time. The Service does not receive or store a user ID or password.
You can create and calculate builds without logging in. Login is needed only to save a build to an account or post it to the community.
Article 5 (Provision of the Service)
The Service is free. We do not charge a usage fee or require payment. There is a support link, but whether you support us has no effect on use of the Service.
The operator provides the following:
- Build creation and calculation tools
- The ability to save a member’s builds to the account and continue them on another device
- The ability to post builds to the community and import other people’s builds
Article 6 (Suspension of the Service)
The operator may suspend all or part of the Service in the following cases.
- Equipment inspection, replacement, or failure, or loss of communications
- Natural disaster, national emergency, or other force majeure
- When it becomes difficult for the operator to continue running the Service for personal reasons
⚠ The Service is run by an individual as a hobby. We cannot promise that it will continue forever. When the Service is ended permanently, 30 days before it takes effect, we will announce it on this page and the community, and allow users to download their own builds by link in the meantime.
Article 7 (Withdrawal and loss of membership)
A member may stop using the Service at any time. To permanently delete the account and saved builds, request it through the contact in Article 14. We will delete them and notify you as soon as we receive the request.
The procedure is the same as Article 6 of the Privacy Policy. Each of your own builds can be deleted directly from the build list.
If a member violates Article 8, the operator may restrict use or remove membership after advance notice. If the conduct causes immediate harm to others, the operator may act first and notify the member afterward.
Article 8 (User obligations)
Users must not do the following:
- Take over another person’s account or pretend to be someone else
- Include profanity, discriminatory or hateful expressions, pornography, advertising, or spam in a post
- Post content that infringes another person’s copyright, reputation, or privacy
- Interfere with operation by making excessive calls to the Service with automated tools
- Try to view or alter another person’s materials by exploiting a vulnerability in the Service
- Violate laws or regulations
Article 9 (Rights in and management of posts)
Copyright in a post belongs to the member who uploaded it. The operator uses a post only to show it within the Service and allow other users to import it. We do not sell it or use it for advertising outside the Service.
A member may take down their own post at any time. However, a copy already imported by someone else becomes that person’s copy and is not deleted with the original.
The operator may hide the following posts after notice. If urgent, we may hide them first and notify the member afterward.
- Those that violate Article 8
- Those found, after reviewing a report, to infringe another person’s rights
- Those that must be hidden under law or at the request of an investigative agency
To report a post, use the Report button on the post or contact us below. We will check it as soon as we receive the report and notify you of the result.
Article 10 (Rights in game materials)
Rights in the game materials shown by the Service (including item, spell, and class names and descriptions, and icons) belong to Larian Studios and Wizards of the Coast. The Service only quotes those materials to the extent needed to plan builds and claims no rights in them.
The sources of the materials and where they came from are listed in Sources and Licenses.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
Calculation results and game information shown by the Service are for reference only. They may differ from the actual game after an update, and the operator does not guarantee their accuracy.
The operator is not liable for damage caused by natural disaster or force majeure, a user’s fault, or the content of a member’s post. However, damage caused by the operator’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence is not excluded.
⚠ Saved builds have a backup, but we recommend keeping important materials separately. On the build screen, “Export” can be used at any time to create a link.
Article 12 (Unofficial fan service)
The Service is not made, endorsed, or sponsored by Larian Studios or Wizards of the Coast; it is an unofficial fan service. Please send inquiries about the Service to the contact below, not to those companies.
Article 13 (Resolution of disputes)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises from use of the Service, the parties will resolve it through good-faith consultation; if consultation fails, an action may be filed in the court designated by the Civil Procedure Act.
