Downed and death saving throws
A Downed party member is not necessarily dead. Healing or Help can get them back up.
While Downed, they make death saving throws on their turns. Three successes stabilize them; three failures kill them.
Taking damage while Downed is dangerous as well. Try to stop further attacks or have another party member use healing or Help.
